Free Days/Nights at Museums in NYC

There are several arts institutions that have a suggested but not mandatory donations (like the Met) and others have designated "pay as you wish" nights. The MoMa currently has a great Van Gogh exhibit and on Fridays from 4:30 - 8:15 is FREE. Also, the new New Museum of Contemporary Art on Bowery has the first ever retrospective in the US of Elizabeth Peyton and is free on Thursdays from 6-8pm.

Another great way to get your free art on is by picking up the Village Voice and hitting the gallery openings. Not only will you get free admission but you will score some free cocktails while you are at it...the ultimate unemployed fashionistas night out!
