This year the first night of Passover, awkwardly falls on a Monday, which would require taking two days off of work, travel time and an evening of torture with your Jewish mother and extended family who keep trying to fix you up with "really nice guys" (code word for ugly, geeky, short and bald). If you don't have local family and friends to spend the holiday with, there are options, however I have found many to be quite pricey (over $100).
I will be attending the Ohel Ayalah seder at NYU. Ohel Ayalah is a group through NYU which organizes high holiday services, seders, shabbat dinners and other activities. The seders on the first and second nights of Passover, March 29th and 30th, are surpisingly affordable at $38 pp. Attendance is limited to 110 people which will sell out quickly, and are broken down by age group (20's and 30's, 40's and college).
