Last night I went to the eco-friendly club, Greenhouse. Eco-friendliness has recently become trendy and gimmicky, causing the market to be flooded with imposters. Greenhouse, owned by the guy from Guesthouse, is apparently built from recyclable or recycled materials and received L.E.E.D registration, thus making it eco-friendly. Perhaps they should translate that"friendliness" and love for the environment into their staff's attitudes and treatment of their patrons. Upon approaching the bar and ordering two drinks with my girl friend, I was told that there is a $50 credit card minimum. I proceeded to challenge the bartender by stating that it was a violation of their terms and contracts with their credit card companies. She could have at least lied to me and told me that they are trying to reduce the amount of paper used for receipts, so they encourage patrons to use cash. But instead, she threatened to discard my drinks. Given recent events of inebriated young ladies at clubs falling victim to sexual predators, I would challenge them the think twice about encouraging a girl to buy 5 drinks. In addition to their bad attitudes, I failed to see trace of any thing eco-friendly except for pathetic fake grass covering the walls and ceiling and uncomfortable pleather banquettes. I give Greenhouse a big thumbs down. More reviews to follow....
